We need an additional Veterinary Surgeon for a large charity clinic in East London, providing essential assistance to low-income pet-owners including referral cases.
If you want to see cases through without the usual limiting financial constraints and have an unrivalled opportunity to expand and improve your skills then consider joining this friendly and dedicated team. They accept referrals from private vets over a wide area where often the owner's only other alternative is euthanasia of their pet.
They are now looking for a very experienced Vet with good all-round skills, some level of orthopaedics, advanced soft tissue surgery and experience of emergency and critical care.
The practice is well-equipped with Xray, ultrasound, haematology and biochemistry machines, endoscopes, air-driven dental machines, etc. As well as routine surgery they see many challenging medical and surgical cases. A new three storey extension has provided the clinic with extra theatres in response to increasing workload.
They may consider a short term contract for a minimum of six months.
You will work Monday to Friday each week. As a Charity Clinic they believe it is important to cover their own out of hours to give continuity for patients and clients so you will join the rota to provide a joint out of hours service for nights, weekends and Bank Holidays, for which you will receive time off in lieu.
The rota is usually between a 1:6 and 1:8 depending on the number of Vets employed and available to work at the time. They offer a competitive salary and CPD allowance. Accommodation may be available if needed.
