This is a fantastic role for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon that has come out due to expansion of the team. The clinic has a good surgical and medical caseload, which will enable you to develop your surgical and medical skills fully and work up to a high level is expected and encouraged. You will be supported by a large team of 5 Vets and 8 nursing staff including RVNs, SVNs and Patient Care Assistants.
The practice generally has 50+ consults, 6+procedures and a few inpatients per day and work to a high level of COVID safe procedures. They have 2 theatres, 3 consult rooms, separate dog, cat and exotic ward, digital x-ray, laser machine and in-house lab equipment. They see a lot of exotic species here and one of the Vets has a keen interest in these and help in this area is always available.
The RVNs regularly carry out nurse appointments and schedule 3 procedures. They are a close and friendly team and are always looking to thrive and support each other in our daily work.
Previous experience working in a small animal practice is required. This position provides you with the opportunity to develop your veterinary skills and use your initiative to promote new ideas.
This is a full time permanent position, with a 4 day week and occasional on call (normally one or two weeks a year supported by a full time night team at our out of hours branch. You will also be part of a weekend rota, covering 1.6 full weekends or 1.3 Saturdays.

You must be a Veterinary Surgeon who is registered with the RCVS. All levels of experience will be considered but some sole charge work as part of a rota is to be expected.
