We are looking for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and experienced team in Kent/Greater London. 

The practice is a modern and well-equipped veterinary surgery who are committed to providing a high quality, good value and honest veterinary service to all pets, both day and night. All our practices share the same software, so you will have access to your patients’ history at all times; case continuity guaranteed! 

The clinic is well equipped with in-house laboratory, two theatres, separate cat and dog wards, endoscopy, ultrasound, ECG, and digital x-ray. The vet team consists of ECC and feline medicine certificate holders, a further studying towards a surgical certificate and a very experienced ultrasonographer.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for emergency and critical care and will thrive on working at gold standard in patient and client care.

You will be responsible for dealing with all out-of-hour care within both the hospital and surrounding clinics. Here, you will work alongside a team of dedicated night staff, as well as having on-call vets and nurses available should you require additional support during your shift.

This is a permanent part time role, consisting of 1 week on 3 weeks off (Monday - Sunday, 7pm-9am). Weekends are included in this pattern. This pattern covers 98 hours on the week that is worked, which equals to an average of 24.5 hours per week throughout the year. The pattern can be discussed, as there will be flexibility for the right candidate.

Salary: 

A competitive package of up to £60,000 per annum pro-rata, depending on your experience

£1,500 CPD allowance with 2 days’ CPD leave and in-house CPD training (pro-rata)

VDS, RCVS and BVA fees paid

Skills:

You must be a registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS.

You must be confident working sole charge, with the ability to make sound clinical judgement.
