Full Description

Due to their continued growing reputation, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a night nurse to join an established team within a modern, vibrant, independent and family owned practice. Based within their fully accredited hospital nestled at the foot of the South Downs National Park in sunny West Sussex, they are 'more than a vets'.

The candidate:

They are now looking for an additional night RVN to join their close-knit team. They need a nurse who enjoys the challenge and variety of night work and is enthusiastic about nursing cases to the highest standard. Good personal skills are essential as they pride themselves on the compassion they show to their clients as well as their patients.

During the day they provide routine vet care as well as complex treatments by Advanced Practitioners in state of the art facilities. By night, the hospital delivers the highest standard of emergency and out of hours care to both patients and neighbouring subscriber practices. Teamwork and inclusivity are very important and one of their many strengths is the support they offer each other. The team are always available to support complex cases or the occasional exceptional caseload.

Continuity of care and exceptional communication with clients, colleagues and member practices is what sets this practice apart.

The role:

The role will involve seeing first opinion emergencies alongside providing continuous care for our inpatients. You must be comfortable with all aspects of general nursing and also be competent in emergency medical and surgical nursing including challenging anaesthetics.

You will be working with experienced and ECC dedicated vets who are both friendly and excellent team players and ANAs are also on site to allow nurses to nurse. They recognise the importance of supporting team members who are working night hours and providing a good work/personal life balance. They have designed a sustainable rota to allow this which is based on a repeatable pattern of 2 nights on 6 off, 4 nights on 6 off. Further information regarding the rota can be provided on request.

Although experience in emergency care is preferred this is not essential and we would consider applicants with a strong passion for this discipline. Funding towards an ECC certificate will also be considered.

Excellent salary + other benefits.

This is an exciting opportunity where the candidate will work within excellent surroundings, supported by a family-style team in a thriving independent practice.
